Nariman Point Area Redevelopment, Mumbai

In association with MO-OF Architects, Mumbai

The Nariman Point Association realized the need to redevelop free India’s first business district so as to maintain its numero uno position among commercial centres in the country. Over the years, the place has grown with over 50,000 people working there, thus leading to inadequate facilities, especially parking and other services. As new business districts are coming up in Mumbai, Nariman Point is beginning to lose its sheen. As a joint venture between this citizen’s association and the state government, two architects were invited to prepare redevelopment proposals. The proposal by us has been chosen for implementation. The central idea of the project is to prepare comprehensive area plans as a way to redevelop Mumbai.
