Tata Housing, Bhubaneshwar

TATA Housing Project Site is located in Sankarpur Mouza, Tahasil – Bhubaneswar in the distrct of Khurda, Odisha. The site is linear shaped covering an area of 12 Acres. A Northern green belt becomes an important aspect of this site and also a major part of the master plan concept in terms of the value proposition, zoning and views from the built forms. The ‘leaf’ analogy forms the conceptual pattern to this linear-shaped site.

The leaf concept is applied in a way that the stems become main traffic circulation, nodes as vehicular junctions, veins as sub-pedestrian routes and pockets as programmed functions. The main buildings are located within the leaf bodies with integrated landscape in between and overlooking into the northern green-belt.

Buildings are positioned in such a way to maximize the views and visual connectivity to the surrounding parkland. The overall planning establishes Harmony, Contiguity & Oneness as opposed to fragmented, repetitive and disparate development. It reflects formality in its form and layout.  It responds to the Forest, captures south breeze in every house and achieves integration of open spaces, multi-level community and facility spaces.

This project is in collaboration with Woods Bagot.
